DIGESTION

Acupuncture is useful for treating everyday digestive issues such as upset stomach, nausea, diarrhea, bloating, gassiness and diarrhea. It is also used to treat a number of digestive conditions such as IBS, GERD, Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis and many more.

PAIN

Pain is the number one condition we see on a daily basis. Whether it’s from sitting and working at a desk all day long or pain from an injury, acupuncture can help by improving blood flow and circulation, reducing inflammation and inhibiting pain receptors in the brain.

AUTOIMMUNE

Acupuncture is effective in the treatment of autoimmune diseases because it reduces inflammation and gets to the root cause of the condition. By treating the root of the condition and not just the symptoms we create a more effective outcome and longer lasting effects.

STRESS

Most New Yorkers experience stress from work, home life or just the hustle and bustle of living in a big city. While stress feels unpleasant it can be an underlying cause of many other health conditions. Acupuncture is extremely relaxing and can help lower stress throughout the day.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

20 Minutes

Chinese herbal medicine is another component of our holistic approach, working hand in hand with acupuncture to address the root causes of illness rather than just treating symptoms. Following a comprehensive consultation, our herbalists prescribe customized herbal formulas tailored to your unique signs, symptoms, and underlying imbalances. These formulas are carefully crafted to support your body's natural healing processes and restore balance. We believe in a personalized approach to care, ensuring that each herbal formula is specifically tailored to your individual pattern and needs.

Facial Acupunture

60 Minutes

Facial acupuncture is a non-invasive, holistic approach to skincare and wellness that involves the insertion of ultra-fine needles into specific points on the face and body. This traditional Chinese medicine technique aims to promote circulation, stimulate collagen production, and balance the body's energy flow. By targeting acupuncture points related to the face, it can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin, while also addressing underlying imbalances that contribute to skin issues.

Microneedling

45 Minutes

Microneedling, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves the use of a device equipped with fine needles to create tiny punctures in the skin's surface. These micro-injuries stimulate the body's natural healing response, triggering the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. Microneedling can improve the appearance of various skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven texture. It also enhances the absorption of skincare products, allowing for better penetration of active ingredients. This rejuvenating treatment promotes smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin, with minimal downtime and discomfort.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist places special cups on the skin to create suction. This practice can promote healing by improving blood flow, reducing inflammation, and helping with muscle relaxation.

What do people have to say about Emerald Acupuncture NYC?

FAQ

FAQ

HOW DOES ACUPUNCTURE WORK?

Acupuncture is a form of treatment where we insert tiny, single use needles into different acupuncture points throughout the body to create change and restore balance.

HOW MANY SESSIONS DO I NEED?

Everyone is different and their body heals and responds to acupuncture differently. Usually conditions that have been going on for longer take longer to treat. We often recommend that patients come once to twice a week for 6 weeks before we reassess the situation.

DOES IT HURT?

Acupuncture is not painful, but it is also not sensationless.  When needles are first inserted it might feel like a tiny prick or you might not feel anything at all, once the needle reaches therapeutic depth you might feel a dull achiness or some tingling which only lasts a few seconds. Once the needles are in it is extremely relaxing.

DOES MY INSURANCE COVER ACUPUNCTURE?

This depends, some insurance plans cover acupuncture while others do not. You can always call your insurance company to ask or have me verify your insurance on your behalf.
